Previously of Management Sciences Associates – an ITN subcontractor in Pittsburgh – Dave Parrish was intimately involved in the planning and construction of the ITN’s data management infrastructure for several years prior to officially joining the ITN in 2003. In his new role at the ITN, he will oversee all information systems and be responsible for ensuring the integrity of data derived from clinical trials, tolerance assay studies and core facilities.

Over the last ten years, Dave has been able to segue his academic training into a career in laboratory information and knowledge discovery systems. With a wealth of experience in clinical data management and advanced knowledge of the rigors of biological sciences, he is uniquely qualified for this post.

While at MSA, Dave is credited with growing its very successful Medical Division from a four-person R&D experiment into a full-fledged departmental operation with a staff of 25 and projected revenue of over $5 million. Rising to the ranks of Vice President, he credits his success to his ability to construct an efficient team of individuals with diverse professional interests and backgrounds, specifically integrating and matching the skills of computer scientists and data managers with the needs of biological scientists.

Dave holds a BS in Medical Technology as well as advanced degrees in Cellular Immunology. He is an active member of the American Medical Informatics Association and the International Society of Analytical Cytometry.
