Carol Genseal has been with the ITN one year as the Executive Director of Tolerance Research Project Management & Operations (TRPMO). The TRPMO group is responsible for the daily project management of tolerance research projects (R&D) as well the mechanistic trials that are run in conjunction with clinical trials. In addition to PM, the department includes all operational functions related to: site supplies for sample collection; support for sample collection and shipping; sample receipt, storage, and distribution; data cleaning; management of core laboratory operations; vendor audits and a host of other activities.
Prior to joining ITN, Carol was the Director of Project Management and Support Operations for Eurofins Medinet, a global central laboratory supporting the clinical trials industry. The departments within Carol’s purview at EM were study management (pharma clients conducting clinical trials); data entry; data management; IT; sample management; logistics and help desk. Fourteen years of her career were spent at the American Red Cross Biomedical Services, beginning at the local site in Peoria, Illinois, and later transitioning to the National Headquarters in Washington D.C. Carol’s career at ARC began as a bench tech in the HLA and red cell reference laboratories and spanned, project management, quality audit, laboratory client services and executive project sponsor for the re-tooling of the regulated document and records management systems.
Carol has a B.S. degree in Medical Technology from University of Illinois (Springfield) and she has certifications as an MT (ASCP) and PMP.
