Peter Sayre, MD, PhD

Peter Sayre, MD joined the ITN in 2003 as Director of Clinical Development and worked on ITN projects in liver transplantation and diabetes. In 2004, he became Executive Director of ITN Clinical Trials Group. Dr. Sayre received his MD from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and his PhD in Immunology from Harvard University. He did medical residency at UCSD and a hematology-oncology fellowship at UCSF, where he has been on the clinical faculty since 1996 and is currently Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine. Prior to joining ITN, he was medical director at two Bay Area biotechnology companies, where he worked in clinical drug development in the areas of gene therapy and cancer. At the ITN, he oversees a medical and operations staff dedicated to protocol development and clinical aspects of trial implementation.
