As recently announced, the ITN Biomarker & Discovery Research (BDR) department completed an integration and renaming process. Now, the Mechanistic Operations group within BDR has reorganized into a team-based model, better aligning team members’ expertise to improve workflow and communication. The objective is to create alignment and transparency that will more effectively achieve our goals and strengthen working relationships for greater efficiency.
This change has resulted in a number of title changes as well as one staff transfer from the Biology Group to the Operations Team. Additionally several people changed reporting relationships with the Operations Team.
Under the leadership of Director, Barbara Nagaraj, the Mechanistic Operations group now consists of two teams detailed below.
Operations Team: Under Associate Director Don Whitehouse's leadership, this team’s focus will expand from Biospecimen Repository and Kit Production Facility coordination, technical support for the Specimen Tracking System and budgeting to now include Core Laboratory management.
Effective May 16, 2012, Michael Konieczny, Core Analyst, will move from the Assay Development and Quality Assurance group to the Operations Team as Core Laboratory management will now be handled by this group.
Trial Management Team: This team continues its focus on trial and site management for the mechanistic component of clinical trials, coordination of specimen collection and transfer, tracking and reporting specimen quality and availability, cleaning specimen data and determining the feasibility of completing specimen collections to meet requirements of the mechanistic assays.
