Online Pre-Screen Questionnaire Is Launched On ACCLAIM MS Website

November 21, 2011

A significant upgrade was recently made to the ACCLAIM (ITN035AI Khoury) branded study website to include a comprehensive and cost efficient pre-screening process. The pre-screener is a one-page online questionnaire that includes a handful of relevant health-related questions that determine whether a patient may eligible to participate in a specific research study—in this case, the ACCLAIM study. The patient’s responses are then compared to basic eligibility criteria in the study protocol. If the patient passes the preliminary questionnaire, he or she can contact a clinical research site near them or choose to be automatically contacted by an ACCLAIM study coordinator to discuss further eligibility and study participation questions.

The brief online questionnaire can be completed in a few minutes and is designed as a tool to identify potential participants that learn about the study through the branded study website. The goal of the online pre-screener is to act as tool to facilitate the patient recruitment process for those individuals that learn about the ACCLAIM study via online methods and offer a more direct, time-saving method for potential participants and ACCLAIM study site personnel.

The ACCLAIM study (A Cooperative Clinical Study of Abatacept in Multiple Sclerosis) is a phase II, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical research trial examining the safety and efficacy of abatacept in adults with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS). Eligible patients must be between the ages of 18 to 65 years old; diagnosed with relapsing-remitting MS; and have had one or more relapses or new MRI lesions in the past year.
