Welcome Aboard Dr. Lijing Xu!

January 4, 2013

Please join me in welcoming Lijing Xu, PhD, as Principal Biostatistician within the Data Analysis Group.  Lijing comes to us by way of the University of Memphis, where as a Research Assistant Professor in the Bioinformatics Program, she played a key role in analyzing next-generation sequencing, gene expression and genomics data.  She provided extensive statistical support and consultation for a number of grant funded projects and has a number of published papers.  A subset of her published work includes applying Latent Semantic Indexing on biomedical literature using gene set cohesion analysis, determining gene expression statistical significance among families of coordinated genes, and prioritizing genes/variants using Bayesian statistical modeling. In addition, Lijing has a strong background in data management, software development, and technology integration.  She has also supervised the training of undergraduate and graduate students in the UM Bioinformatics Program.

Lijing is currently tackling the RAVE RNA-Seq data analysis with support from our two other Principal Biostatisticians, Noha Lim and Zhong Gao, along with infrastructure support from the BRI IT team.  We look forward to her guidance and having this type of data effectively analyzed and presented within TrialShare!

She can be found in the Bethesda offices and can be reached at:  240-235-6177 or lxu@immunetolerance.org

Please join me in giving Lijing a warm welcome to the ITN!  ---Adam Asare--
